The Outlook for January 2021 indicates warmer than normal temperatures for Canada with exceptional anomalies in parts of the Northern Great Plains of Canada and the U.S. Temperatures will also be much warmer in South Asia around the Bay of Bengal. Wetter than normal conditions are forecast across the northern arc of South America from the Pacific to the Atlantic.

The Outlook for December 2020 indicates exceptionally hotter than normal temperatures in Arctic Russia, and severe warm anomalies blanketing much of Canada’s vast northern environs. Arctic regions can also expect more precipitation. Indonesia, India, and south-central Brazil will be much warmer as well.

The Outlook for November 2020 indicates that the Orinoco River Watershed of Venezuela will be much wetter than normal, while the Andes region through western Colombia and Ecuador will be much drier. Much of Madagascar will be drier than normal as well. The western U.S. can expect to be hotter than normal, particularly the Southwest. And nearly all of the vast expanse of Russia will see temperatures above normal.

The October Outlook indicates warmer than normal temperatures in many regions around the world notably the U.S. West where conditions will be exceptionally warmer in the Southern Rockies, Southwest, and Southern California. Central and Northern Europe can expect to be wetter than normal, and the Tibetan Plateau will be drier.
