The forecast anticipates intense deficits to occur in the Balkans, continuing north throughout most eastern European countries into portions of the Baltics. Much of southern Norway, Finland, and Ireland can expect intense surplus. 

The 12-month forecast ending in May 2024 anticipates that while many regions of European countries will observe near-normal conditions, much of eastern European countries can expect deficits ranging from moderate to extreme intensity. Small areas of surplus are also expected to occur in southern and northern Europe. 

The 12-month forecast ending in April 2024 indicates that while the majority of Continental Europe should anticipate mostly normal conditions and mild anomalies, intense surplus will persist in southern Europe and Finland, with deficits appearing in western European countries and the Baltics. 

The forecast anticipates intense concentrations of deficit in isolated areas of northern and central Continental Europe, as well as similarly intense surpluses in southern Europe. 

The forecast for Europe anticipates widespread deficits across much of Continental Europe, as well as some non-contiguous countries in the region.
