Almost all of southern India is forecast to have at least moderate deficits. Exceptional deficits are forecast for: a large region in south-central India including northern Karnataka, Telangana, and northern Andhra Pradesh; the northern border region between Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh; portions of Odisha; and, southern Tamil Nadu. Exceptional surpluses are forecast for the Indus River Basin, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.
United States
Widespread deficits of varying intensity will occur in the southwest, northern, and northeastern states. Severe to extreme surpluses will remain in Florida, as well as in most noncontiguous states.
South Asia
extreme to exceptional surpluses will persist in north-central and south-central regions of India. Exceptional surpluses are expected to emerge in eastern regions of the country, and in some areas of Nepal and Bangladesh. Extreme to exceptional deficits will expand in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Africa
Exceptional deficits throughout Africa will persist in northwestern, northern, and central countries. Surpluses will remain along the Sahel.
South America
Exceptional deficits will remain throughout the Amazon and the Boliviarian Nations. Similar deficits will occur in northeastern coastal regions of Brazil, in Argentina, and in Chile.

The forecast for November 2024 expects significant water deficits for the 12-month period of August 2024 through July 2025 in northern South America, Canada, northwestern and eastern China, and northern to central Africa. Areas expected to experience surplus include central Africa, South Asia, and Central America.
