The forecast through October indicates widespread water deficits though exceptional deficits will shrink considerably. Deficits will be severe from France through Germany, and many pockets in England, Eastern Europe, and the Balkans, and of even greater intensity on many major rivers.

Regions forecast to have significant water deficits for the 12-month period March 2022 through February 2023 include: Chile, California, Quebec, France, and Estonia. Areas of significant water surplus include: North Dakota, eastern Australia, Java, China, European Russia, and Tanzania.
