Canada can expect exceptional deficits in eastern-central British Columbia and severe deficits throughout Alberta through April 2023. Central Saskatchewan and central Manitoba, as well as the latter’s coastal areas along the Hudson Bay, can anticipate similarly intense deficits.

The 12-month forecast ending in September 2023 indicates widespread exceptional anomalies throughout the continent, with deficits spanning through central areas of most provinces.

Canada can expect widespread exceptional water deficits through February 2023 across the central regions of British Columbia, Manitoba, Alberta, and Quebec, as well as western and eastern Ontario.

The forecast through January 2023 indicates many areas of intense deficit, including Newfoundland, Quebec into Labrador, southeastern Ontario, central and northeastern Manitoba, central Saskatchewan, and much of the central and northern regions of Alberta and British Columbia.

The forecast through December indicates areas of intense water deficit in every region and moderate deficits in southern Saskatchewan, southern Alberta, and southern Ontario. Pockets of surplus are expected in southern British Columbia and widespread surpluses in northwestern Saskatchewan.
