Exceptional deficits will persist in regions of the Levant, as well as other Middle Eastern countries, including Iran, Turkey, and Iraq.
Severe to exceptional deficits will continue in several eastern European countries. Severe to exceptional surplus is anticipated in portions of southern and northern Europe and the Iberian Peninsula.
Exceptional deficits in northwestern and eastern coastal Mexico will dissipate, but remain in portions of central and southern Mexico. Widespread transitional conditions will resolve in central to southern Mexico and Central America, though some surpluses will continue in Central America.
Exceptional deficits will continue in several provinces. Northern portions of Nunavut will observe surpluses of varying intensity.
The forecast through May indicates widespread water surpluses in the Northern Plains States and Upper Midwest, severe-to-exceptional in the Dakotas and Nebraska. Moderate surpluses are expected in Tennessee, the Carolinas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. Areas of deficit include central Colorado, southeastern Texas, and northern California.
The forecast through April indicates widespread water surpluses in the Northern Plains States and Upper Midwest, exceptional in the Dakotas and Nebraska. The forecast through March 2020 indicates persistent, widespread water surpluses in the Plains States and Upper Midwest with exceptional anomalies in the Dakotas and central Nebraska. Intense deficits will persist in central Colorado and the Salmon River Mountains in Idaho, and deficits will emerge in eastern Texas. Moderate surpluses are forecast for several states in U.S. Southeast.
Through January 2020 widespread surpluses will persist in the Plains States as far south as Oklahoma and in the Upper Midwest with intense anomalies in the Dakotas. Deficits will downgrade in the Southwest, persist with intensity in southwestern Colorado, and diminish considerably from the Virginias through the Southeast. Intense deficits are forecast for Delaware and southern Florida.
Through December, widespread water surpluses of varying intensity will persist in the Plains States and the Upper Midwest, forming a column from North Dakota through northern Oklahoma. Surpluses will be extreme to exceptional in the Dakotas. Primarily moderate deficits are forecast from the Ohio River Valley to the Atlantic and south to the Gulf, but anomalies will be intense in West Virginia and states to the east. Intense deficits are also forecast for central and southeastern Colorado.
